Bajaj auto has unveiled Bajaj Chetak escooter in November, 2019 and now launched in Indian market. Bajaj Chetak priced 1,15,000 /-. Bajaj has taken good amount of efforts to make this retro looking electric scooter. Bajaj Chetak is very elegant looking escooter as compared to other scooters.
In 2014 Bajaj started working on Bajaj Chetak escooter. I still remember in 2014 - 2015 Bajaj said they will never enter in scooter segment and started research and development of this electric scooter. Let's find out what bajaj has done with Chetak brand.

Bajaj Chetak Power and Battery:

Bajaj Chetak powered by 3kW battery. This electric scooter has IP67 ratings waterproof battery pack. BLDC motor in bajaj chetak produces upto 16nm maximum torque. With this combination Bajaj chetak can able to achieve top speed of 75km in Sport Mode and It will cruse around 60kmph in Eco Mode.

As Bajaj chetak does not comes with detachable battery pack. Charge time of chetak is around 5 hours for full charge and 1 hour for 25% charge.

Bajaj Chetak Range:

As bajaj has stated that Bajaj Chetak will cover 85 Kilometers in one charge in sport mode and in 95 Kilometers in Eco mode. These are the ARAI certified specifications but it expect to return 75 to 80 km range in one full charge on road.

Bajaj Chetak comes with telescopic suspension. This suspension set up will be very effective on Indian bumpy roads. But I feel bajaj should have to improve their suspension quality as this is an electric scooter.

Bajaj Chetak has two variants one is urban which comes with drum brake on both front and rear wheel. Another variant called premium has disc bake at front and drum brake at rear wheel.

Bajaj chetak sports black alloy wheels on both urban and premium variants. These black alloy wheels quite look sporty and stylish with all body color combinations. Chetak escooter has 90/90-12 specification tyres.

Bajaj chetak electric scooter comes with 50,000 km or 3 years warranty. I think bajaj should have given little more kilometers in warrenty as this will be electric scooter which will have less running cost as compared to other petrol engine powered scooters. Bajaj also costing more than lakh rupees so they should have given us some more kilometers to move around the corners without worry.

Bajaj Chetak was launched in 1972 in global market and now in 2020 its electric avatar has been launched. We can expect good sales of bajaj chetak as it is iconic brand distributor network of bajaj. As of now they are selling this electric scooter in Pune and Banglore only.
